Introduction
With over $20B in capital raises, M&A, and strategic finance executed across continents, Nirvikar Jain combines global banking depth with startup, VC, and founder-side experience. As Founder of BayTech Capital Partners, he helps technology and fintech leaders navigate complex strategic transactions with clarity and precision. His background spans leading tech M&A and capital-raising mandates at a Silicon Valley boutique bank, and earlier building multi-billion-dollar businesses at ICICI, Citi, Bank of America, National Australia Bank, and as CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank (India), where he built its most profitable international business. A former Board Member, CEO, CFO, CRO, investor, and operator, Nirvikar brings a uniquely cross-functional perspective to help founders shape strategy, unlock value, and drive transformative outcomes across markets.
Global Leadership Roles
Nirvikar spent over two decades leading corporate and institutional banking businesses at some of the world’s largest financial institutions — including ICICI Bank, Citibank, Bank of America, National Australia Bank, and as Chief Executive Officer for First Abu Dhabi Bank (India). He built and managed multi-billion-dollar trade finance, structured credit, and cross-border M&A portfolios, and established new product lines and establish large India businesses. His early career at Suzuki Motors in strategy and planning provided a strong foundation in operations and large-scale execution — experience that continues to shape his analytical and results-driven approach to advisory work today.
Startup Founder, Operator & Advisor
Nirvikar has been deeply involved in the startup ecosystem as both founder and operator. He founded BungalowStays.com, one of India’s early vacation rental marketplaces, gaining firsthand experience in building digital products and scaling teams. He later served as CFO at silicon valley based DreamBig Semiconductors (aquired by Arm) and as Global CRO at Volopay (YCS20), leading fundraising, global expansion, and operational efficiency. Over the years, he has advised multiple startups across the world in the areas of technology, fintech, AI, and SaaS on strategy, valuation, and M&A readiness — combining a founder’s empathy with a banker’s precision to help startups grow, raise capital, and achieve successful exits.
Tech Investing, Judging & Mentoring
Nirvikar has been actively involved in the global technology startup investment landscape — from angel investments in early-stage startups (Express Bikewash, Healthtech) to advising growth-stage founders on capital raising and M&A. As CEO of ISB DLabs, he oversaw the incubator’s first six startup investments, helping shape their product and funding journeys. He has served as a mentor and judge at Plug & Play Tech Center in Silicon Valley and Startup-O Singapore, supporting promising entrepreneurs across the world in Tech, SaaS, and AI.

Nirvikar is a recognized thought leader at the intersection of finance, technology, and policy, known for bringing clarity to how innovation transforms global markets. He is a co-author of The Economics of Fintech (MIT Press) and a frequent speaker at leading industry platforms. He has also shared insights at Stanford policy forums, stablecoin fireside discussions with VCs and operators, and several AI and fintech panels in Silicon Valley. A regular at technology and venture conferences, Nirvikar continues to engage with founders, investors, and policymakers to shape the conversation around the future of finance, innovation, and cross-border capital.
Policy & Government Engagement
Nirvikar has played a significant role at the intersection of finance, policy, and government relations, shaping cross-border economic collaboration and regulatory frameworks. He served as the Founding Director and Board Chair of the UAE–India Business Council (UIBC), established to promote bilateral trade, investment, and innovation between the two nations. As CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank (India), he led the bank’s entry into India, obtaining both the Foreign Portfolio Investor (FPI) and maiden branch banking licenses — key milestones that opened new channels for institutional capital flows. Nirvikar has also presented to ministries, regulators, and policy-making bodies on matters of financial sector development, fintech regulation, and international banking, leveraging his global perspective to align policy and market evolution.
Education
Nirvikar is a Sloan Fellow of the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he earned his master’s degree in Management (MS), focusing on leadership, innovation, and global strategy. He holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur and a BSc (Hons) from Delhi University. Earlier in his career, he was awarded the Dean’s Fellowship at Syracuse University for a PhD in Marketing and Economics, which he later chose to drop out due to personal reasons. He also holds SIE, Series 79 and Series 63 Licenses. A voracious learner, Nirvikar continually expands his knowledge by reading across disciplines and engaging with thought leaders in finance, technology, and policy. His curiosity and willingness to learn from diverse experts keep his perspective fresh and forward-looking.
Personal & Social
Based in Palo Alto, California, Nirvikar lives with his wife, a finance and operations leader also a volunteer Board Member at Stanford affiliated CCIS -supporting interntional student partners at Stanford, and their daughter, who is a student at UCSB. Outside of work, he enjoys flying, golf, long drives, nature photography and playing the guitar, drawing inspiration from travel and the outdoors. Passionate about community engagement, he has served on the Board of Palo Alto based La Comida de California, supporting senior nutrition programs, and contributed to Gift Card Bank as a founding volunteer, which helps families in need access essentials. His personal and social commitments reflect the same principle that defines his professional work — creating meaningful, lasting impact.
